Biomechanics Foundation Course overview
This course provides an introduction to Biomechanics and Functional Anatomy for those looking to learn more about the APX principles. You’ll be taken through the basics of biomechanical planes, how this links to movement and why clients struggle with exercises in the gym. You’ll then be shown the exact screening model I use on my clients and how to interpret the data
This Course Is For You If...
- You have a passion for movement training & biomechanics.             Â
- You want to enhance your skill set so that you can gain a better understanding of common gym related injuries.
- You want to know the missing link when it comes to compound movements and how you can maximise your strength and performance.
APXÂ Courses
Module 1
Movement Theory & Gait Cycle
Module 1 covers a more in depth look into the biomechanics model and how it links to gym floor exercises. You’ll learn the true meaning of mobility training, why clients develop asymmetries, the Running Vs Throwing models and practical gym floor examples.
After this, module 1 explains how the theory links to the gait cycle, why the gait cycle is relevant to training and how it presents itself on the gym floor.
Module 2
Breathing & Functional Anatomy
Human movement is a representation of how the respiration system works. In order to fully correct a movement pattern, you must understand how it links to the breathing system. Module 2 explains why our breathing mechanics are so important and how this ties in with training clients on the gym floor.
The Functional Anatomy aspect then explains how the superficial muscles we train on the gym floor correlate to the gait cycle. You’ll learn how these muscles function, not just where they attach, giving you a much more comprehensive understanding of how to train these muscles properly.
Module 3
Exercise Mechanics & Case Studies
To know how to design exercises efficiently, it’s vital we understand the role that external forces play on our body. To do this, a sound grasp on physics is required. The Exercise Mechanics module explains how exercises change based upon where we are in space and how this deciphers whether movements are both safe and effective.
Module 3 is then summarised with five different case studies which show the APX principles in action. You’ll see real people with real issues being trained in the gym, with each case study also containing a break down of why I chose the exercises I did based on the individual.
