Shoulder Rehab Methods
Episode 117: Shoulder Rehabilitation

This one was an absolute pleasure to record. After getting awesome feedback from the recent episode with Ben regarding shoulder mechanics, we pick up where we left off in that episode but this time getting Aaron involved.

We discuss shoulder training and rehab from both a personal training and treatment perspective. We look at common injuries, causations and flaws in the traditional “rehab exercises”. We then delve in to the positives and negatives of “isolation” work and start to see why context and what’s relevant to the individual is so important.

Personally, I find releasing episodes like this very rewarding. The reason being is that it provides coaches with not just educational content, but applicable information which helps them see the big picture when training people. I think some coaches are starting to become very harsh on themselves. As we talk about in the podcast, imposter syndrome is rife these days with people thinking they’re not “knowledgeable” because they’re not up to date wit the latest research. Here you’ll be able to see that common sense is always king and you ability to coach people, not necessarily the knowledge you have, plays a big part in successful training.
